Sailing to Fantasy FestMonday, October 24, your sailing adventure begins from Bayshore Landing Marina in Coconut Grove. You’ll spend the day cruising Biscayne Bay with a stop to swim and snorkel on the reef and sail down Hawkes Channel to spend the night in Key Largo. Tuesday, October 25 you leave Key Largo heading down Hawkes Channel under sail. Your next stop is Duck Key just above Marathon. Check out the Dolphin Adventure! Wednesday, October 26, leaving Duck Key it’s about 2 hours to Sombrero Key Light where you can pick up a mooring and spend the day exploring the coral, or cruising just south of the tower in the Gulf Stream to fish for mahi, Spanish mackerel, and other game fish. You’ll put into Boot Key Channel spend the night anchored out, or if you prefer spend the night in Burdine’s Waterfront Marina or Marathon Marina. Thursday, October 27, it’s half a day from Boot Key Harbor to Looe Key, one of the most beautiful spots on the reef for snorkeling and diving, and when you’ve seen the best of the fish and the coral, you’ll sail into the tiny marina at Little Palm Island for the night and get ready to enjoy a full course gourmet dinner by torchlight on the resort’s veranda. Friday, October 28, you’ll arrive in Key West this afternoon and probably want to do some shopping and sight seeing in town. There’s plenty to do and see before the big parade on Saturday night. Saturday, October 29, enjoy the festivities; Fantasy Fest winds up with the grand parade down Duval St. It’s an all night party!! Sunday, October 30, probably a Bloody Mary morning. Relax in the cockpit and recover from the night’s revelry. Maybe a stroll through town later in the day to one of the museums or the Hemingway House. Monday, October 31, We’re underway by 9, retracing our route up Hawkes Channel, heading for an anchorage at Bahia Honda State Park. You can swim or dinghy ashore or just relax and enjoy the sunset. Tuesday, November 1, we’re under sail again early to make a run back to Key Largo where you’ll spend your last night aboard. Wednesday, November 2, A pleasant day sail up Hawkes Channel and into Biscayne Bay brings you back to Bayshore Landing near Dinner Key with a lot of enjoyable memories and a new appreciation for the Fabulous Florida Keys. |
Motor Yacht to Key West and backFor those folks with less time to spend, or who are just not sailors, we offer the 5 day adventure aboard a 48’ Sea Ray motoryacht. (2 couples maximum) Thursday, October 27 This trip departs Bayshore Landing in Coconut Grove and runs straight to Looe Key for some top quality snorkeling, then in to Little Palm Island to rendezvous with our sailing yacht clients for a full course gourmet dinner on the resort’s veranda. Friday, October 28, underway around 9, you’ll cruise down the reef line in the Gulf Stream to fish for Mahi and other game fish varieties. A quick stop on the West Sambo’s reef for some more snorkeling before heading into Key West. Grab a quick shower and head into town to shop or sight see. Saturday, October 29, head up town for the pre-parade festivities and get ready for the Grand Finale tonight. Let’s party all night! Sunday, October 30, Sleep in and then relax in the cockpit with a Bloody Mary to recover from the night’s revelry. Later, maybe a walk to Mallory Square for the Sunset Festival and then back on board for a good night’s sleep before departing early in the morning. Monday, October 31, We leave Key West fairly early to make the run back to Coconut Grove. Enjoy the sun and sea while your captain pilots the big yacht up Hawkes Channel and Biscayne Bay to return to the Bayshore Landing Marina. The cost is $5200 per couple(stateroom) for either trip. |
