Capt. Bob Everhard,
Bob has been in the marine business for over 25 years starting with his own windsurfing business in 1978 after graduating from Baldwin Wallace College.
Coming to Florida in 1984 for a surf vacation he met his future wife and business partner Susan. Now as a husband & wife team they run the day to day operations of Florida Yacht which includes four charter bases with over 40 charter boats.
Bob is a valuable source of hands-on, practical knowledge; whether its yacht equipment installations, electronics, rigging, custom yacht refits.
Bob has his 100-ton US Coast Guard Captain's License, is an ASA certified sailing instructor and licensed Florida yacht broker. In addition to windsurfing, Bob has his private pilot's licenses and enjoys flying.
Capt.David Dodgen, Licensed Yacht Salesman
Because of changes in the manufacturing sector, he was forced to change his vocation and began applying these experiences to a boating career through an association with the Hunter sailboat dealer in Dallas. After purchasing the boat of their dreams, a Caliber 47LRC named Wildest Dream, he and his wife Gail, packed up and relocated to Miami with Florida Yacht Charters & Sales. The transition from selling smaller lake boats to worldwide cruisers and motor yachts was a great challenge and learning experience. But the experiences have paid off for his clients, as he has been able to help keep their dreams alive as well.
He participates as one of FYC's ASA Sailing School instructors and has earned his USCG Master 50T captain's license that has allowed him to perform several deliveries and charters through the Bahamas and to the west coast of Florida. In addition, he has made several extended trips through the Bahamas on his boat.
He is anxious to apply his experiences to help select the exact boat for his clients.
Capt. Bob Deresz, Licensed Yacht Salesman
Bob’s love for the adventure of sailing began on Lake Saint Clair as a member of the Detroit Yacht Club. His accomplishments in the Junior Sailing Program lead to representing the Midwest in the prestigious Sears Cup at the age of 15.
Bob majored in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the University of Michigan. He held the position of head Counselor and Instructor managing the Sailing and Boating Program and staff at Camp Michigania, the University of Michigan’s Alumni Family Camp facility.
Bob’s adventurous dreams of sailing brought him to Coconut Grove, Florida and a position as a rigger for the largest Yacht Brokerage/Marina Boat Yard in Miami. He joined the Miami Yacht Club and managed the Adult Sailing Program as head administrator, lecturer and one of his instructors.
Bob was offered the Captain’s position on “Phantom” a 50’ C&C racing sloop. After a number of the extended SORC series, Jamaica races and numerous regattas Bob was sent to Canada to oversee the construction and commissioning of the new “Phantom” a 66’C&C. She had the largest head sails in the world at the time, Barriant having been commissioned to design and manufacture coffee grinders large enough to handle them.
In 1973 Bob sailed with Ron Holland on Ron’s innovated design, “EYGTHENE” to win the IOR Quarter Ton championship in Tampa Bay.
In 1974 Bob was licensed by the State of Florida as a Yacht and Ship Salesman with Miami’s most prestigious firm. Bob prospered into the 1980’s assisting many sailors purchasing their yachts, accomplishing their dreams and adventures.
Bob had owned and cruised on his 32’ Gaff rigged Bahaman Cutter, “Delphis”, designed and built by Archer and Albury in Nassau, Bahamas and in 1976 purchased his 42’ Creekmore yawl, “Yonder”. Bob is refurbishing “Yonder”, celebrating a 33 year love affair with her.
Today, Bob is a Licensed Florida Yacht and Ship Salesman holding a United States Coast Guard 100 ton Master’s License with a Sailing Endorsement assisting his clients in all aspects of their yachting needs.
