Learn to Sail VacationTake a "Learn to Sail Vacation", a fun-filled week of cruising the Florida Keys or Bahamas under the friendly guidance of your own U.S. Coast Guard licensed sailing instructor. You'll learn the difference between a sheet and a halyard, practice basic navigation among a chain of glittering islands, review anchoring techniques as you stop mid-day to explore an undersea coral garden, master docking at a fine marina for dinner and dancing, and maybe even touch on celestial navigation as you stargaze from your boat, anchored in a moonlit cove. The emphasis is on relaxation, but if you're serious about sailing and chartering on your own some day, you can earn certification in Basic Sailing and Basic Coastal Cruising and Bareboat as you vacation. FYC is an American Sailing Association certified training facility (in fact, we were named ASA's School of the Year!), and your captain is an ASA qualified sailing instructor. As an ASA-trained student, your skills and achievement levels are internationally recognized. That means when you learn with us, you can charter anywhere. Florida Yacht Charters also offers discounts on charters to ASA-certified sailors. Pre-scheduled ASA classes depart from Miami Beach. You may schedule a class with four or more friends; or couples class from our other bases in Key West and the Abacos for an additional charge. This will allow you to choose the dates and itinerary to fit your busy schedule. All classes include a fully equipped cruising yacht, instructor's fee, appropriate ASA textbooks, logbook, exam, certification fee, all meals on board (BCC and BBC only) (Split provisioning - Couples and Bare).
